10.04.2004 "Battleship"
We played Battleship against Dylan, and somehow Buttercup emerged victorious. Who knew the band could be so seaworthy.
We were without Joe Reyes this night, so we chose to play "Low Down Son" in honor of our pre-Joe roots. Kevin, the lyricist for that song, was in attendance. I hope we did it justice. Overall it was a fun challenge to try to spread out to cover the gaping hole left by our own, brilliant Joe. In his honor we sang "Living Again" and "Down."
There was a new piece of art/political commentary in the "Tater Gallery." John Sanders made a display of every prisoner executed under then George W. Bush's four years as Governor of Texas. Also, Richard Hoffman set up a voting registration booth in the apse.
